CRIMINAL RECORDS

STATEWIDE SEARCHES
A verification and inquiry of criminal records in the county courts of residence or the state repository where available. MBI does not use any State Probation and Corrections Department databases as they are too limited to protect your clients, employees, and your company from theft, workplace violence, and negligent hiring lawsuits. Database searches can be ordered and are used to augment court record searches.

COUNTY SEARCHES
County searches are available in all states and are selected in states where statewide records are limited or not available. There can be an additional court fee for some counties in California, Louisiana, Michigan, New York and South Carolina. As a general rule nuisance court fees are not charged or are built into the suggested fee.

NEW YORK BOROUGH SEARCHES
Results include records from all of the boroughs in the Unified Court System as well as the rest of the state.

FEDERAL COURT RECORDS SEARCHES
Searches federal prison system for current and past inmates as well as the PACER federal courts system for conviction records.

TERRORIST/PATRIOT ACT SEARCHES
Results from 13 different lists including FBI, Office of Foreign Assets Control, U.S. Bureau of Industry and Security, INTERPOL, Politically Exposed Persons, European Union Terrorism, Canadian Sanctions, Bank of England Sanctions, and United Nations Sanctions.

NATIONAL CRIMINAL RECORD SEARCHES
Results from a compilation of many databases derived from all 50 states plus Washington D.C. The sources of information may include Office of Court Administration, Department of Corrections, County Records and Other State Agencies. States may have information from only one source or may have information from multiple sources. All states include sex offender registry and a check against MBI Worldwide South's private database. This search is used only to augment standard felony/misdemeanor criminal record searches as there is no guarantee of accuracy or comprehensive results.



OTHER SEARCHES

CREDIT HISTORY
An electronic verification of current credit files for employment or advancement purposes. This is a standard credit report for employment purposes only.

SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER TRACE
Name, address, and social security number information given on each application are screened against a national database for suspicious or potentially fraudulent information. Trace report also provides all home addresses found in credit reports and all names or aliases associated with the number.

PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION
A direct verification of previous employers that consists of supervisors’ comments, employment dates, eligibility for rehire, and reasons for leaving. When an employer uses a service company to provide separation data the service company fee is reduced by $5.

EDUCATION VERIFICATION
Information obtained includes dates of attendance, date of graduation, and degree achieved. When the institution uses a service company to provide attendance and degree data the service company fee is reduced by $5.

SEX OFFENDER FILES
Searches all sex offender database files open to the public.

PROFESSIONAL LICENSE VERIFICATION
Results include name, dates of validity, state, number, and professional specialty.

OIG MEDICARE/MEDICAID FRAUD SEARCHES
Provides information pertaining to fraudulent claims.

MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT
The driving record of each applicant will be searched for the most recent three (3) years. This will include the date of the first application for a driver’s license in the state and when the license is scheduled to expire. It will also include any special license restrictions. Should there be any infractions they will be listed with dates and points assigned in those states that provide point information. DOT and 7 year searches are available upon request.
